The following partially outlines HCLC's anti-bullying and anti-bias policies from our Family Handbook. For any additional questions or concerns regarding these policies, or if you feel there is any instance of bullying or bias, please contact us or speak with us directly.

Anti-Bullying Policy

Happy Children Learning Center is a zero-tolerance facility for bullying.

Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior among school-aged children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. The behavior is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated, over time. Both kids who are bullied and those who bully others may have serious, lasting problems. There are three types of bullying, verbal, social, and physical, and their traits are not tolerated at HCLC. Students who exhibit traits of bullying will be required to participate in our school's Anti-Bullying Prevention Plan.

For more information on bullying and its effects on children please read here.

Anti-Bias Policy

Happy Children Learning Center in no way discriminates on the basis of age, gender, marital status, race, political or religious beliefs, disability, nationality, background or sexual orientation.

Parent Communications Protocol

HCLC understands how important it is for parents to know what is happening at their child's school. To encourage communication between parents and staff, we welcome you to visit your child's classroom at any time to see what activities are taking place. Additional opportunities for parents and families to become involved in their children's learning experiences include:

Parent Mailing list: We make official announcements via email to our parents' mailing list.

Open House: Children, parents, other family members, friends, and community representatives are invited to our open house at the school.

Parent Info Sessions: Workshops and informational meetings for parents are planned throughout the year to aid in understanding the early childhood years.

The above methods help ensure that parents have many ways to be involved with our program and their child's success in our educational and child care programs.
