Toddler Program
Our spacious new facility offers plenty of classroom space for the little ones. Our toddler classrooms are a colorful, bright, learning environment for young children with a focus on play-based learning, storytelling, creative arts, and learning through movement and song. Children learn to count, recite their ABCs, fundamental social skills, and potty training as well as both beginning to feed, and clean up after themselves. The toddlers also begin to develop routine, master transition times, and work on learning how to become more independent.
Toddler & Preschool
The Toddler and Preschool class is for ages 2.5–3 years old. Here we focus on preparing them for the world of preschool learning! Since child development is gradual, rather than abrupt, we overlap grades in order to create smooth transitions and ideal preparation between levels. This classroom is newly renovated, incredibly bright, colorful, and perfect for learning.
Children in this class work to perfect their toilet training and hygiene habits, as well as become more self-sufficient in feeding themselves and looking after their belongings. Toddlers and preschoolers learn how to trace lines, shapes, and letters, accurately identify these letters, and concepts when presented them. These children also work on using specific colors to create artwork, as well as begin to participate in storytelling and reading books with teachers. Fine gross motor activities make up a large component of the curriculum in this class as the children get ready to transition into preschool.
Preschool &
Pre-Kindergarten
Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten ages range from 3–6 years. Each classroom has a ratio of 20 children to 3 teachers. From dramatic play, science exploration and the creative corner, our classrooms have a variety of areas for children to explore as they learn and grow. Full of music, song, dance, and fun, both classrooms are bustling with activity.
The curriculum for this program starts to fall more in line with kindergarten in public school systems, focusing on letter and word recognition, writing sample sentences, counting to 100, and introductory math and sciences.
The children learn to fully explore the world around them and start to develop more concrete interests in their areas of study. Shaping children's worlds is our focus here at Happy Children Learning Center and our preschool and pre-kindergarten classrooms are a shining example of knowledge in action and the love of learning that we instill in all our children.
